TLDSB Education Centre staff raise money to support students in need

From March 4 to 6, the Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) Lindsay Education Centre Sunshine Committee hosted the first-ever Spring Craft and Bake Sale to raise money for the Feed All Four Fund. This fund provides direct support to students and families in TLDSB communities who may be struggling.

The initiative kicked off with a vendor callout, asking staff to bring either a craft or baked good product to be sold. There was a tremendous response and education centre staff were able to choose from a large variety of items over the three-day sale, including homemade river charcuterie boards, crocheted blankets and baskets, martial arts ropes, crafted greeting cards, hand-made pottery, repurposed Indigenous items, and a number of baked goods.

From the sales, 100 percent of the baking proceeds, and at least 10 percent of the craft proceeds were collected. In total, the initiative raised $475, which will directly impact TLDSB families in need.

TLDSB inclement weather school/education centre closure – February 13, 2025

In anticipation of the winter storm that is forecasted to hit central Ontario with heavy snowfall this evening continuing into tomorrow morning that would impact the safety of travel routes, Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) has made the decision to close all schools, education centres, and child care centres in schools tomorrow, Thursday, February 13.

Please note, schools will not be moving to online learning.

We hope students will take this opportunity to catch up on work, read a book, and/or get outside to play!

We know this is an unusual circumstance and we appreciate parents/guardians for their understanding during this time.

If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school.
