On September 2, Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) teaching staff, educational assistants, and early childhood educators from all schools across the Board will be participating in professional development in-person, focusing on school safety. Below is the format that will be taking place throughout the day for each group:

Description: Professional development for all staff will encompass health and safety, violence prevention and intervention, and cybersecurity. Staff will review protocols for addressing behaviour, classroom culture, office referrals, walking talkie communication, communication with parents/guardians via telephone by the end of September, and progressive discipline.
Additionally, staff will engage in a review of equity of outcomes, and fostering discussions aimed at cultivating supportive and discrimination-free learning environments.
Optional sessions will include an introduction to the life promotion and suicide prevention protocol, and strategies for supporting student attendance.
